24/08/2013 by mcimatti

Passed through Paris on the way to Finland to see the Bouroullec exhibit. I always get inspired by seeing prototypes, and in the case of the Bouroullec, it is these physical doodles they make with fabric that really fascinate me. Lastly, there is a great example of simple franken-prototyping of their Alcove sofa with a pice […]

bucket-dustpan

31/07/2013 by mcimatti

Love the use of this large flexible bucket by Barcelona street cleaners. Given the large diameter, they use it as a dustpan without having to bend over very far. Or it can serve another purpose to hold other contents as a regular container.

Barcelona metro stops

made for human hands

16/06/2013 by mcimatti

Riding Budapest’s old metro line as well as an old bus, I was happy to see the leather straps still preserved. There is such a great feeling to holding these I think that no plastic can match. They adapt perfectly to hand making a comfortable grip during a bumpy bus ride.

the best packaging

16/06/2013 by mcimatti

A couple weeks ago I passed by the market on my way home to get a couple peaches. The guy at the fruit and vegetable stall packed my peaches in the best way… a sheet paper skillfully folded that I can take home and re-use to doodle.
